Many people help me with lots of different things. Of course I have the attendants who put up with me day in and day out no matter what stupid stunts I pull on them. I also have the wheelchair and lift repairmen who have to come by fairly regularly and try desperately to understand what I say so that they will know what is broken.

Among the other people who have to endure working with me is a computerrepairman who suffers much because he can't just grab the computer and run like the other repairmen do. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit when I say they grab the wheelchair and run, but on the whole, when the computer guy comes, he is usually here for a while.

One day Rob was coming to show me how to do something because I'm a dunce when it comes to figuring out some things. He was later than he said he would be, so I decided to get myself a drink of water. I was doing fine until the phone started ringing because it startled me and made me them water all over myself. By the time he got to my apartment door, my top was soaked. It was too late to try and make myself look neat, and besides, it was only water - no big deal.

Wet and Wild

I had something much more important to worry about. I never did get the lid back on my drinking tube which happened to be full of water and was about to fall on the floor. I got Rob to put the lid on the tube because I was too wound up to do it myself by that time, but I couldn't keep the tube from making its way to the edge of the seat.

I always have it between my legs, and with all my extra movements just then, it wouldn't stay put. It almost got the better of me when it started to slip through my knees. I grabbed the straw to pull it up, but the lid came off because it wasn't on tight enough. I had to ask for help from Rob again, so it was getting fairly embarrassing. He had already put my shoe back on which had fallen off before he came.

All these things were happening to me, and I had no way of controlling them let alone stopping them.

That stupid tube of water was the worst because it wouldn't stay where it usually does no matter what I did with it.

Finally Rob piped up and asked me if I always had trouble with it., There wasn't much I could say except that I didn't usually end up in fixes such as this. I just wish I could have given him an explanation because I know that if I were him, I would have been curious. Now that I have thought about it, I'm sure it had something to do with the way I was sitting because I'm not in the most comfortable wheelchair these days. It's the best explanation I can come up with right now anyway.I think I can safely say that Rob has been initiated into my weird world. I really gave him a start when I told him that I dropped a wire in the keyboard. People should know that I can do anything impossible; it is the things which are possible that I can't do.
